Preliminary work has now started at Lochkov Lofts, a joint residential project by Euro Ventures and ITAKA, in preparation for actual construction.

The site of the former brewery in Lochkov, Prague 5, where sensitive renovation will create modern apartments with old-world charm, is now coming to life with the arrival of the first construction workers and machinery.

Lochkov Lofts residential project

The site, with its original dilapidated buildings, is now undergoing preparatory work for the construction of the new Lochkov Lofts residential project.

Work currently consists mostly of ground works, the demolition of existing concrete and asphalt surfaces and brick walls, and the demolition of an unattractive modern outbuilding. Given the importance attached to the preservation of the location's charm, the works also include care of the existing greenery and the protection of trees against damage from building work.

"Careful handling of the site's historical features, including its original greenery, will help us to transform the site in a sensitive way so that it does not lose anything of its distinctive atmosphere," explains Sylva Krtilová, Sales & Marketing Manager at Euro Ventures.

The project has been designed by renowned architect and restorer Alberto di Stefano, the managing director of development company ITAKA, which has several successful renovations of historic cultural and industrial buildings under its belt.

The Lochkov Lofts project offers 73 non-traditional apartments with areas from 30 m2 to 125 m2, ranging from studio apartments (1+kk) to four-bedroom apartments (5+kk) and eight ateliers.

The location of Lochkov Lofts

The location is a pleasant environment, surrounded by greenery, on the southwestern fringe of Prague, only 13 kilometres from the city centre. The project is designed for those seeking calm and comfortable living in an unusual style with a distinctive genius loci and architecture.

Residents will welcome the adjoining tennis courts and football pitch, new fitness centre and restaurant. Families with children will enjoy the fenced children's playground directly under the windows of the complex.

"Lochkov Lofts will provide peaceful and secure homes, constructed to high standards of quality, at reasonable prices. This is confirmed by the considerable interest that has been shown in the project since the launch of sales," says Sylva Krtilová.

The start of actual construction is planned for spring 2010, with the finishing touches to be put to the apartments at the end of 2011. Sales are being handled by real estate agency Professionals.
